Avendra encourages associates to enjoy their time at work and offers many programs and sponsor events that help keep associates energized and happy.

In Avendra’s Ambassador Program a new hire (the protégé) is paired with a seasoned associate (the ambassador) to facilitate entrance into the company’s work environment.  Ambassadors share resources that make the transition to working in and enjoying Avendra’s culture faster and easier for new associates.  Ambassadors not only help new associates acclimate to the company, they also promote interdepartmental cooperation and understanding.

Our unique Rewards & Recognition Program encourages associates to nominate co-workers for rewards based on exceptional performance or assisting with work above and beyond the call of duty. Rewards are approved by the nominee’s supervisor and typically consist of a certificate and a check for $100-$200. This is a great way for associates to recognize and reward one another for a job well done.

Avendra Fun Fund outings are half-day events for teams in the organization to get out of the office and participate in something fun together. The purpose of Fun Fun days are to encourage teamwork, boost morale and productivity. These outings are planned and organized by each department and therefore, the department gets to decide how they would like to spend the time allotted (one half day per year). Avendra associates really enjoy this opportunity to do fun activities outside of the office. In the past, Fun Funds have included sports tournaments such as golf, bowling and horseshoes, paintball, trips to amusement parks, picnics, scavenger hunts, and much more!

Avendra sponsors large and small gatherings that encourage associates to interact and get to know each other in a more relaxed, social setting.  From a casual day of boating on the Chesapeake Bay, to the festive holiday party, Avendra associates have opportunities away from the office to forget about work and enjoy getting to know their colleagues and their families.  Bi-monthly Birthday/New-Hire Parties celebrate associate birthdays and introduce new hires to others within the company. Additional company-wide events include, Bring Your Kids to Work Day, Chili Cook Off, Fall Festival Celebration, Thanksgiving Potluck, and much more.  

The Avendra Social Committee helps plan enjoyable activities that boost morale and create a sense of pride within the Avendra community.  The Avendra Social Committee focuses on both fun and service-oriented projects that generate a synergy among Avendra associates.

On designated “Denim Days,” associates can donate $5 or more to a selected charity and in return, can wear jeans to work that day. Associates nominate charities of their choosing for these fundraising events so they tend to be local foundations and our associates tend to be very involved with these charities.

Community outreach is also important to Avendra associates. From blood drives to holiday gifts for needy families, our associates appreciate the opportunity to give back.
