Especially with today’s global sourcing, quality and safety are top priorities for Avendra. Every Avendra supplier is evaluated during our contracting process and no contract is executed until our Quality Assurance organization has approved the supplier. Quality assurance is deeply imbedded in our business approach and it is critical that our suppliers meet our rigorous expectations.
In addition to the initial evaluation of a supplier, our Quality Assurance team conducts ongoing “surprise” audits at manufacturing plants and distribution facilities. We also do audits at customer locations to ensure the integrity of the distribution network we have in place. In our own Evaluation Center we test specific products to ensure that they meet the required specifications and perform as expected.
Avendra’s Quality Assurance team has deep product level knowledge. Their knowledge of food and beverage, as well as non-food products, is an invaluable part of Avendra’s offering. Companies being evaluated as potential Avendra suppliers will receive more information on specific criteria and the detailed quality assurance process.
