Avendra recently hosted a Sustainability Roundtable where customers were invited to come together and discuss corporate social responsibility and sustainability. During the half day session, Avendra presented its Corporate Social Responsibility Strategy and moderated a discussion with customers on the various sustainability resources accessible through Avendra.
Attendees also discussed their sustainability journey and shared their challenges and successes. One main takeaway was the need for more awareness at the property level, which Avendra hopes to help with by making information more available to decision makers and purchasers.
Another area of interest discussed for customers was waste minimization and management. To ensure enough focus was given to this important topic, the last hour was dedicated to an in-depth discussion about waste issues and solutions.
“As more and more hotel operators embrace sustainable methods of operating their properties, they’re encountering challenges – some that may threaten the bottom line. Avendra is committed to ensuring our customers have the resources they need to make these changes easily and sustainably,” said Hamzah Abu-Ragheb, Avendra’s Sustainability Manager.
