1. What do you do at Avendra International?

I lead and coach a team in Europe to help organisations get the most out of Avendra International’s procurement solutions - whether it’s improving profitability, driving efficiency, or finding innovative ways to support operations.

2. Can you tell us about your background and expertise in the industry?

My background is in IT, and I first entered the hospitality sector through a hotel software company, starting as a developer before moving into account and sales management. Over 11 years, I worked closely with hotels across Europe, learning the operational challenges they face. This experience has helped me to understand what really matters to our clients and help them find effective solutions.

3. How long have you been part of the Avendra International team?

I joined in November 2018 as a Client Relationship Manager. In January 2020, I became a Senior Client Relationship Manager, supporting and guiding the Belgian team. As of June 2024, I now lead teams across three countries, helping them develop solutions and deliver long-term value to clients.

4. What do you think about our team and company culture?

Avendra International fosters an open, collaborative culture where people from different countries and backgrounds work together and learn from each other.

I’ve been given space to grow personally and professionally, and I’ve never felt more supported. The company values your input and actively encourages cross-border development and long-term career planning.

5. What is your favourite thing about working here?

The fact that every person is recognised and appreciated for their individual talents. This approach nurtures a happy and committed team and gives everyone the freedom to grow, whether through a linear or more unique career path.

6. What does a typical workday look like for you?

I start by checking emails and touching base with my team to provide support. I spend a good part of the day connecting with clients - preparing presentations, reviewing performance, and offering strategic insights.

Whether I’m working from my home office or a client’s hotel lobby, every day is about strengthening relationships and thinking ahead to drive improvement as a company, as a team or even as an individual.

On a Friday, I like to end my day with a nice cold glass of (Belgian) beer.

7. Can you share a project you’ve worked on that you’re particularly proud of?

One project I’m particularly proud of began in Belgium, where I successfully brought a major hotel brand onto our programme. By establishing a strong foundation and proving the value of our services locally, we created a model that could be replicated across other countries.

Thanks to the exceptional collaboration between our teams, the prospective client recognised the Belgian team as best-in-class for both service and system support, and ultimately chose to partner with us. It was a proud moment that demonstrated what’s possible through teamwork, commitment, and a strong local foundation.

8. What’s one thing you’re excited about in the future for both your career and Avendra International?

Avendra International has grown significantly in Europe, and I’m excited about the opportunities this will bring to pan-European organisations who would benefit from our services and solutions.

Personally, I look forward to continuing to evolve in my role, whether that’s taking on new challenges or supporting the wider team in new ways.

9. Can you share a fun fact that people might not know about you?

My hidden talent? I can imitate a peacock’s scream — much to the embarrassment of my children whenever I perform my ‘act’. Luckily, I don’t have to prove it here!
