1. What do you do at Avendra International?
I support clients in the healthcare, education, leisure, and hospitality sectors to achieve their procurement objectives by ensuring value for money, efficiency, and compliance. My role also focuses on risk management, transparency, budget control, and building strong supplier relationships to support strategic planning and smooth procurement processes.
2. Can you tell us about your background and expertise in the industry?
I have 26 years in various client management roles, including managing accounts across confectionery, soft drinks, chilled food to go, fresh produce, and bakery, as well as project management for major events like the London 2012 Olympics and Commonwealth Games. In addition, I’ve been involved in new product development in the bakery category for a global coffee chain, sandwich brand development and category management for soft drinks with a global Quick Service Restaurant group.

I’ve been on the team for 6 years.

6. What does a typical workday look like for you?
A typical workday for me involves providing operational support, managing relationships with suppliers, and working closely with clients to propose, agree, and deliver steps towards achieving their objectives. I juggle multiple clients and suppliers, ensuring that all processes run smoothly and efficiently to meet everyone’s needs.
7. Can you share a project you’ve worked on that you’re particularly proud of?
The allergen awareness event for Milton Keynes University Hospital, helped raise awareness to improve patient safety. I also supported a training day for Learning Without Limits Academy Trust, coordinating 700 lunches and 7 supplier presentations, which helped streamline their processes and enhance team knowledge.
8. What’s one thing you’re excited about in the future for both your career and Avendra International?
New opportunities are emerging internationally as Avendra expands into new markets, supporting fresh client opportunities and driving growth across global sectors.
9. Can you share a fun fact that people might not know about you?
I love to run, and I have taken part in a number of half marathons!
