1. What do you do at Avendra International?
I manage the development of our “Pi” eProcurement system, working closely with a talented team of engineers to develop the system and improve users’ overall experience.
2. Can you tell us about your background and expertise in the industry?
I originally joined Avendra International as a Marketing Manager, but my role has continued to grow and evolve over the years. Before this, I worked in marketing roles within the clothing, sports, and cosmeceutical sectors.
3. How long have you been part of the Avendra International team?
I joined the business 15 years ago - it’s been amazing to see how far it has come!
4. What do you think about our team and company culture?
At Avendra International, everyone is pulling in the same direction. There’s a real sense of collaboration and shared purpose.
5. What is your favourite thing about working here?
I love seeing the Pi system continue to be adopted by more organisations. It’s exciting to be part of something that’s constantly evolving, developing to improve our clients work-life and their business operations.
6. What does a typical workday look like for you?
Most days start with a quick ‘stand-up’ meeting with the development team, where we catch up on progress, discuss challenges, and plan the next steps.
Since my role involves working with a wide range of stakeholders, my day is usually packed with meetings—whether it’s collaborating with different teams across the business or speaking with customers and suppliers. Between meetings, I’m focused on planning and developing new features and working on larger business projects.
7. Can you share a project you’ve worked on that you’re particularly proud of?
One project I’m particularly proud of is the supplier portal we recently built. It’s a huge, technically complex project because it has to integrate with existing processes. There were plenty of challenges along the way, but seeing the final result and hearing the positive feedback from suppliers has made it all worth it.
8. What’s one thing you’re excited about in the future for both your career and Avendra International?
I’m excited about the future of the Pi system and to see how it continues to grow. Right now, it’s being used in the UK, Ireland, and some countries in Continental Europe, but there’s so much potential to expand further.
Seeing more clients adopt the system and watching it roll out into new regions is something I’m looking forward to. It’s an exciting time for Pi, and I’m thrilled to be part of that journey!
9. Can you share a fun fact that people might not know about you?
When my son was 13 (and a keen swimmer), he challenged himself - and me - to swim the equivalent of the English Channel in our local swimming pool.
We swam three to five times a week, and it took us nearly three months to complete! Safe to say, we both got pretty good at counting laps—and my arms were ready to call it quits long before the finish line.
